Week one was a rousing success! My goals for the week were:
- Yoga (4 times)
- Walk for at least 10 minutes (4 times)
- Strength workouts (3 times)
- Find a place to hike
- Clean my closet
- Read for at least 30 minutes (4 times)
I found an excellent YouTube channel called Yoga with Adriene that I’ve been using. I don’t know if she’s like, a super awesome yoga instructor or anything, but I really like her. She has a pleasant voice, she explains things thoroughly, and it’s really just been a great way to start my mornings! I’m currently trying to get through her “30 Days of Yoga” series, but some of it is proving a little too difficult for me right now. When I find that that’s the case, I just go back and do an easier routine (typically one of her morning yoga videos, those are usually pretty simple and relaxing). I like how in her morning videos, she emphasizes finding your intention for the day. It forces me to take a moment to not be such a bitch about waking up early, or having a lot of responsibilities, or whatever. I just close my eyes and tell myself that I am calm, I am beautiful, I am connected, and I can do whatever the day has in store for me.
