Makeup Favorites: January 2017

It’s finally that time again! Let’s talk makeup, y’all.

Skin:

Rosa Centifolia 3-in-1 Cleansing Water – Y’all, this is my favorite lazy morning thing. Nowadays I’m rushing out the door at early hours, and I just don’t want to go through the five minute routine of washing my face. I know, it’s only five minutes, but it’s a tired five minutes. In the mornings, I just put some of this on a cotton pad and wipe it on my face to refresh, and then do the makeup thing! It’s so fantastic, it smells great, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer – Probably the best addition to my makeup collection! It’s not tinted, like Smashbox’s primers, so I’ve added a green color corrector as well, but this just goes on so smoothly and beautifully, and helps keep my foundation looking awesome all day. It’s a little pricey, but a little bit goes a long way. I buy the smaller size, and it lasts me quite awhile – I think I’ve only had to buy one more, although admittedly I don’t use it daily.

Eyes:

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil – You. Guys. I’ve never been a brow person before, but this is quickly making me one. For one thing, it’s super easy to use. The tip is tapered, so you can get more detailed on the tail end of your brow, and the other end of it is a brush to give it a more natural look. My brows look on point 100% of the time when I use this. We’ll see if I keep it up, since it IS adding another step to the makeup thing, but the more I put on makeup, the faster I get at it!

Benefit They’re Real! Remover – Not to be all Benefit all the time here (admittedly, I get my eyebrows waxed at their beauty bar in Macy’s), but this is for real the best eye makeup remover I have ever encountered. I hate the way oil-based removers make my skin feel, all slippery like a wet frog. This one is more lotion-y, and it feels moisturizing AND gets all my makeup off! Even the waterproof stuff!

Lips:

Bite Beauty Everyday Agave Lip Balm – I will never buy Chapstick again. I love me some pumpkin spice Chapstick, but this stuff is out of this world. It stays on for so long, I don’t find myself needing to reapply it a lot like I do with Chapstick. It smells great and is super moisturizing, which is awesome on those chilly, windy days!
